In Collaboration with Østensjø Rederier VUVI achieves ROV Milestone
We are pleased to announce a significant milestone in the realm of marine inspection. In collaboration with the Norwegian-based ship owner Østensjø as a customer and DNV, VUVI successfully conducted an inaugural blue water In-Water Survey (IWS) 70 nautical miles off the coast of Angola. This achievement marks an important step forward in our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional marine inspection services on a global scale.
Performed under challenging nighttime conditions, amidst strong currents and varying visibility, this IWS presented notable complexities. Leveraging our competence and ROV system setup – optimized through our years of operation, our team navigated these challenges with diligence and precision. Despite the vessel drifting with the current throughout the survey, the ship maintained its readiness to engage its propulsion system if necessary, ensuring operational flexibility and safety.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Østensjø for their exemplary cooperation and steadfast organizational support throughout this endeavor. Their partnership was integral to the successful execution of this historic IWS. Additionally, we express our appreciation to DNV for their invaluable collaboration during the inspection process.
The challenges posed by the strong currents and changing visibility served as valuable learning experiences, highlighting the importance of adaptability and perseverance. Despite these obstacles, we are proud to report that we completed the inspection well within the designated time slot, demonstrating our commitment to efficiency and professionalism.
This accomplishment serves as a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team at VUVI. We remain humbled by the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of marine inspection practices, and we look forward to continued collaboration and growth in the future.”
